About Broedlin Law, LLC

Broedlin Law, LLC is dedicated to helping families and business owners plan for the future and solve problems big and small.  At its core, the firm is about creating straightforward, effective, and time-tested solutions for its clients.  We do not offer “one-size fits all” plans and, instead, aim to cater to each client’s specific needs through a highly personalized approach.  Finally, we believe that client convenience is paramount and work to take as much effort off our clients’ plates as possible, including coming to your home or office to alleviate the burdens of time that come with handling legal matters.

Ryan Broedlin, Owner, Lawyer

Ryan has been in the legal field for over 15 years and has a broad base of experience with transactional legal matters in the estate planning, elder law, and corporate fields.  Prior to starting his own firm, Ryan first worked for one of New Jersey’s most prominent law firms and, most recently, managed his practice out of a boutique law firm focused primarily on Estate Planning and Elder Law.

Ryan’s Estate Planning practice includes advising clients on methods of wealth preservation and transfer including (i) helping young families ensure their children’s futures are well protected and (ii) helping retirees pass on wealth to the next generation in a way that mitigates taxes and procedural hurdles their loved ones might otherwise deal with.

Ryan’s Elder Law practice focuses on helping individuals and their loved ones mitigate some of the difficult legal and financial issues that come with aging.  This includes advising clients on how to navigate the complex, and often costly, subject of long-term care and ensuring that appropriate legal documents are in place to allow family members to appropriately take care of one another in times of need.

Ryan also spent a substantial part of his career serving as in-house counsel for a private-equity owned business in the financial services industry.  In this role, Ryan was responsible for negotiating hundreds of commercial contracts, managing multi-million-dollar litigations, negotiating real estate leases, handling corporate governance/investor relations, and assisting with selling and acquiring businesses.  Ryan utilizes this experience to help his corporate clients start business, negotiate contracts with key vendors and business partners, deal with day-to-day problems, and structure exit strategies. Ryan also serves as outside “in-house” counsel for several of his clients.

With a mix of law-firm and big business experience, Ryan brings legal knowledge, business savvy, and a hands-on approach to all of his client matters.

Ryan is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and New York. He earned his undergraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University in 2006 with a major in Political Science and his Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law – Newark in 2009, where he was a Dean’s Merit Scholar. Ryan is a member of the New York State Bar Association - Elder Law and Special Needs Section, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Morris County Bar Association, and the Passaic County Senior Resource Group.

When Ryan is not at the office, he focuses his downtime on being with his two sons, Max and Henry, and his amazing wife, Abby. He enjoys all things outdoors and is an avid (albeit so-so) skier. Ryan also volunteers his time speaking to local communities and senior citizen groups on issues pertaining to Elder Law and Estate Planning.

“Ryan was terrific. He was knowledgeable, achieved great results, and did so in a very rapid fashion. But most importantly he was great to work with - especially his responsiveness which was beyond expectations.”
